Xin’s practice often covers multiple approaches including printmaking, photography, and writing.
Seeing images as objects and surfaces of objects, she aims to explore the physical and contextual dimensions of image-making based on a combination of contemporary printing with material studies, her work highlights its material delicacy and bodily sensation.
Taking inspiration from literature and theoretical study, she is interested in the fluidity of identities and the dynamic between social structures. Through the traces and patterns underneath the images——the scares, the subtext, the vulnerabilities, the conflicts, they evoke past memories and welcome new encounters.
